As President of ABA Insurance Services Inc., John has served in that role since the company’s inception in 2010. He previously served as the Business Leader for the Professional Liability Group of Progressive and has prior experience as a CPA with two of the Big Four accounting firms as well as a practicing attorney with the firm of Blaugrund, Herbert & Martin in Dublin, Ohio. John earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Capital University and J.D. from Cleveland Marshall College of Law.

Todd Evans Vice President, Operations

Todd is currently responsible for the company’s insurance programs for Small Businesses. Including time with the company’s origins within Progressive, he has held significant leadership roles during his 33-year tenure; most recently serving as COO. His background includes leadership and oversight roles for many of the core functions required to successfully run an insurance organization. Prior to joining our group, Todd was a Branch Manager for Dollar Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace University and earned his MBA from John Carroll University.

Shawn McNamara Senior Vice President, Finance

Shawn joined the ABA Insurance Services team in September, 2010 with over 15 years of experience serving as a Chief Financial Officer for mid-size manufacturing companies in Northeast Ohio. Shawn’s primary areas of expertise are financial and strategic planning, complex business issues, budget development, acquisitions and business risk management. A 1990 graduate of Cleveland State University, Shawn is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Eric Steiner Senior Vice President & Director of Claims

Eric has been managing our claims group since 2008, after practicing in both the Litigation and SEC/Corporate Transactions practice groups at Progressive Group of Insurance Companies. He became Director of Claims and General Counsel for ABA Insurance Services when the company was formed in 2010. Before Progressive, he was an associate at Baker Hostetler LLP, where he focused on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation. Eric earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame and received his bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University.

Lisa Kelly Senior Vice President & Bank Program Director

Lisa graduated cum laude from Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Finance. Prior to joining ABA Insurance Services, Lisa worked for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) as an Assistant National Bank Examiner. Lisa joined Progressive as an Underwriter in 1987 and assumed Underwriting Manager responsibilities in 1990.

Michael Read Vice President, Business Development

As Business Development Director, Mike is responsible for all revenue generating activities, including new customer acquisition, demand generation and agent experience.  Previously, he held leadership positions in underwriting, customer relations, marketing and sales at Progressive Insurance as part of the Professional Liability Group. Mike began his career as a lending officer at a large commercial bank. He holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from Hiram College, a Master’s in Public Administration from Indiana University, and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.

Pat rejoined the ABA Insurance Services team in the summer of 2012 after spending the prior sixteen years working as a combination underwriting manager/business technology leader for General Reinsurance in Stamford, CT. He has extensive experience working with both professional and property/casualty lines of business. Pat has either personally developed or been responsible for the design and deployment of a host of underwriting, rating, and claims systems. He has a law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College, and a Bachelor's degree from The College of the Holy Cross.
